Established in 2009 with a generous grant from the St. George Foundation, the Bulgarian Music Society (BMS) has since been a beacon of cultural enrichment in Washington DC. Hosted at the Bulgarian Embassy, our concert series has, over the past 15 years, become a cherished tradition, celebrating an array of musical talents through 77 remarkable concerts and featuring over 400 artists from across the globe.

Our programs seamlessly blend tradition and innovation, delivering unique musical experiences. Through lasting partnerships with foundations, art organizations, competitions, and educational institutions, we’ve proudly featured celebrated musicians, rising competition laureates, captivating dancers, actors, talented youth, and diverse ensembles from Bulgaria, Portugal, Italy, Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Switzerland, Turkey, Brazil, Korea, Ukraine, and the United States.

Audiences enjoy a rich variety of performances, from classical vocal, instrumental, orchestral, and opera pieces to contemporary works. Our offerings extend to jazz, folklore, Broadway hits, poetry, dance, and cross-genre collaborations, ensuring something for every musical taste.

Recent highlights include performances by the legendary kaval virtuoso Theodosii Spassov, renowned pianist and teacher Prof. Milena Mollova, the remarkable Trio Clavino (US), Harrington String Quartet (US), soprano Fabian Bravo (Argentina), and jazz pianist Kristian Alexandrov (Canada).
